You Have A Negative Mindset

All Is Not Lost...

What Causes Negative Thinking?

Negative thinking is a pattern of negative thoughts about yourself and your surroundings. We all experience negative thinking in some way or another, but when these thoughts interfere with your overall well being, it's time to do something about it.

Negative thinking is a habit, it's something that you've actually taught yourself to do. This negativity doesn't serve you and you know the results don’t feel good; yet you feel stuck and continue to be negative.

Unfortunately, this sort of mindset holds you back from living the best version of yourself.  You have a hard time thinking about what went right in challenging life situations. You feel like other people are judging you and you judge others. What's worse is your negative mindset makes you think you're unable to change and live a balanced and fulfilled life. It's a catch-22 situation that can be very hard to break out of without professional help.

How To Change A Negative Mindset To A Positive One...

The first step to changing your negative mindset to a more positive one is awareness. Becoming aware of your belief systems and habitual behaviours is fundamental to achieving a more balanced outlook on life. One method that I highly recommend is journaling. Journaling forces your brain through the process of having to explicitly document and analyse your actions and behaviours allowing them to be contemplated from a more dispassionate and objective perspective. You can read more about journaling and several other methods for increasing self awareness in this blog post: 6 Ways to Recharge your Mindset this Summer.
